Having awareness of the mental health issue is beneficial to children, youth and families to have a better understanding of the disorder. ADHD can make a person feel torn towards their learning abilities, communication, self-control, memory and many more things that people without ADHD find to be easy or “not that big of a deal”. Having ADHD is not a bad thing to have, nor is it an easy path to go down. The more awareness that people have about this mental illness and the more help to create better learning strategies and coping mechanisms towards ADHD can benefit the people and the people who are apart of their lives for their futures.Many children and youth that are struggling with ADHD and does not realize it is labelled as lazy, unmotivated, stupid, bad and a lot of harsher names. In reality, people struggling with ADHD just have a different way of expressing themselves and learning.
